Layers For The Active Sim

 

What Sim on the go doesn't layer their gym clothes or swim suites or even just leotards like camis? What about leggings that are full body? This set by Daluved1 isn't just for ballerinas, it's for the Sim on the go!

OMT: I would not recommend the male hairstyles. This is just according to my style interests. I like my pixel guys to have more curly hair than straight hair. I think it makes them look more artistic, sensitive, distinguished than...skater. That's just me though!

My Thoughts On Sims 3 New York City World "Big Apple"

Sul-sul.

Many of you may have seen "The Big Apple", a world by Horus. It IS beautiful, but my thoughts are here (BTW: If you are excited you may not want to read my thoughts : /) 

Before I write about this world, here are a few pics from the official blog.






My Thoughts:

This world appears to be a simple case of show pony-ness. Yes, it is pretty, but it designed more to tickle the flavor of a pretty atmosphere more than an avid simmer. Fun to look at it, sad to play. This world is coated in a thick layer of CC faux-window wallpaper and detailed décor. Going through more pictures in the gallery, everything looks kind of closed off, like the creator simply took a 3D photo of the streets of NYC. Going through the photos, your brain can sketch out many the dreamy possibility. Your Sim sipping lattes or jogging around central park or catching a cab in the vibrant streets of New York, New York. No. Sorry. What we see here is the Bridgeport disappointment times...I don't know...a lot! With EA's engines, there will be no traffic, no coffee house with a full stock of buzzing patrons. Nope. Just a ghost town NY, which really isn't New York at all. Also? All signs are ACTUAL ADS. I do not like this. I'm one of those people who likes my CC EA-matched and my Simlish authentic (SIMLISH!) I don't want the mammoth faces of Jennifer Aniston and the tomato hues of Macy's all over my game. No thanks, that's not my definition of Realismish ;).  Don't get me wrong, I have a heart :)! Obviously, this creator by the name of Horus is a divine creator who knows his way around customization programs along with the ability to jump through CAW's intricate hoops. Sure! But what he has spent a long time creating is an art project. Which is totally fine...for the creator. But downloaders looking for a REAL city will be disappointed around the first hour or two of gameplay. This world is simply a huge, virtual art project. For these reasons, I will not download. There is also the fact that I am a stubborn lap top user and no way I am loading this up into my CC-infested game. No thanks, but great job.

You are clearly talented...at digital art :).

Family Clutter

Hi-lo!

I think one of my favorite types of CC is clutter. Unfortunately, it can be hard to find the charming clutter you are looking for. That's why I am taking on the task of find some CC that screams "cluttered family home".

My inspiration is this home. I remade it for Sycamore County, but I really did not have the huge amount of clutter to really make it as charming.

I think something really fun to do in my free time is to read Sims 3 stories. Like real stories, not the clickable garbage on the exchange. 

My two verrry favorites are My Darling by Mosneakers (Go gen 3!!)
and The Al-Habri Family by Procasimnation (can you do no wrong, Proca? Perfection!) 

I think my closest runner-up would be A Second Chance by Tashie Baby. But I find I'm not as enthralled as I am with the two above. Got it?

The Best Sims 3 Piercing Set

Back.


Right now, I'm just kind of going through my stuff and thinking "what do I like enough to share?"

The Layerable Piercing Set by Winry. Of course!

If you don't have this and have Simmies living in the city you need this! What urban landscape is complete without piercings? God EA is wholesome...especially w/ Sims 3. I mean, I think I even recall SIMS 2 having a single nose stud. I used it with, like, all my Sims. It rocked. But, like many a wise Simmer has stated: Sims 3 without CC is grit-less. The city landscape isn't hipster or gritty or cool or grunge...it's *ick* pop star-ish. Sure, Bridgeport's pretty, but I really can't play it for long. I hate the empty clubs (so depressing to see those flashing lights and long expanses of dance floors with no dancers) and the general theme of bleach blonde pop stars. Give me indie grit! :O

Ok, I'm done. Lol. 

Annnnywaaaay, this is a layerable piercing set (meaning you can be a metal face if you wish) but I mostly just use the nose and lip piercings and sparingly.

It's a huge set of great mix and match suites for female and male sims. This includes kids, teens, young adults and adults. 

I am personally downloading this after this post ASAP. It's great and have such a real, modern style. Very realismish, if I do say so myself :D. 

I think one thing I am very excited about is the included trunks for boys. Yesss! I hate those tiny shorts! What boy wears those anyway? I haven't seen any in the U.S. but hey...who knows?
